Boram Lee is Senior consultant to the Hydromet Program of the World Bank Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), the World Bank. Her work includes analytical and technical advice on innovative approaches to improve the capability of the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs), and on the public-private partnership. Throughout her career, Boram has been involved in the global coordination of weather/climate/ocean research on various subjects, as well as in the decision-making support for intergovernmental processes and inter-agency collaborations. For over 25 years, Boram has worked at the United Nations specialized agencies including the World Meteorological Organization (WMO and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO, and Korea Meteorological Administration as senior officer in charge of coordinating international and inter-governmental science activities; building strategic operational goals, structuring frameworks to implement, and leading trans-disciplinary teams to deliver sustained results. Boram holds PhD in climatology from the Université Paris VI, France, Masters and Bachelors degrees in atmospheric science from the Seoul National University in Korea, and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). She is an adjunct professor in the College of Ocean Science, Jeju National University, Republic of Korea since 2010.
